UDOT to Close Northbound I-15 in Layton for Two Additional Nights
Northbound I-15 will close overnight both Monday and Tuesday for bridge demolition
SALT LAKE CITY (June 29, 2020) – The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will close northbound Interstate 15 (I-15) in Layton between
Layton Parkway and Hill Field Road again tonight and tomorrow night, June 29 and 30. The closures will allow crews to complete demolition of the Gentile Street bridge deck over I-15, which was extended due to weather and materials issues.
Northbound I-15 will be closed tonight and tomorrow night during the hours below:
Tonight at 10 p.m. to Tuesday, June 30, at 5 a.m.
Tuesday, June 30, at 10 p.m. to Wednesday, July 1, at 5 a.m.
During this time, southbound I-15 will also be reduced to one lane from Hill Field Road to Layton Parkway.
All northbound traffic will be detoured off I-15 at Layton Parkway, and then back onto the freeway via Main Street and Hill Field Road. Drivers should plan ahead for heavy delays, allow extra time to travel the detour
route, and avoid the area if possible.
The reconstructed Gentile Street bridge over I-15 is scheduled to open in late August. This work is being done as part of the I-15 Express Lanes project, which is extending the Express Lanes on I-15 from Layton Parkway
to Riverdale Road. To contact the project team with questions or to sign up for text alerts and email updates, call 833-I15-XPRS or email
